Guest contributor Angela Thrasher

Guest contributor Angela Thrasher is a doctoral candidate in Health Behavior & Health Education at the UNC School of Public Health. In past professional life, she provided technical assistance and training to HIV/AIDS prevention and care programs around the U.S. Primary research interests are racial/ethnic health disparities and HIV/AIDS policies and politics. She describes herself as having no background in global health or bioethics, but finds the topics fascinating.

We are happy to have Angela contribute to the Global Bioethics blog when the spirit moves her.

I was diagnosed as HEPATITIS B carrier in 2013 with fibrosis of the
liver already present. I started on antiviral medications which
reduced the viral load initially. After a couple of years the virus
became resistant. I started on HEPATITIS B Herbal treatment from
